North Sea Port has co-signed a charter for more sustainable, climate-friendly and efficient water transport throughout the Rhine basin. In doing so, it is also highlighting its own role as a Rhine port.

North Sea Port joins Portbase with Vlissingen and Terneuzen: reuse data possible for entire digital port community in the Netherlands
Portbase is linking up with the port authority North Sea Port. From now on, data from the logistics chain in Vlissingen and Terneuzen can be consulted and reused by all Dutch seaports. This makes us part of the Dutch digital port community, which is much easier for our customers.

Sweden-Belgium Green Shipping Corridor expands ambition for the world's first green ammonia shipping corridor and welcomes new partner
By 2030, two ammonia-fuelled ro-ro vessels of DFDS are expected to operate on the routes between Sweden and Belgium. Potentially it is the world's first green ammonia shipping corridor for freight vessels. North Sea Port is part of this shipping route.

New name for Terneuzen lock complex: Noordzeesluizen (North Sea Locks)
The new name for the Terneuzen lock complex was announced on Thursday, November 16. As from today North Sea Locks is the name of the entire complex of three locks connecting Terneuzen and Ghent with the North Sea.

North Sea Port's seaborne cargo throughput increased by almost 1% in the first quarter of this year compared to the same period in 2024. The greater part of the growth – to a total of 16.6 million tons – is attributable to liquid bulk handling. Trade with the United Kingdom continues to increase.
