New name for Terneuzen lock complex: Noordzeesluizen (North Sea Locks)
The new name for the Terneuzen lock complex was announced on Thursday, November 16. As from today North Sea Locks is the name of the entire complex of three locks connecting Terneuzen and Ghent with the North Sea.
Maritime access in North Sea Port extended: OVET now able to accommodate ships with deeper draughts in Vlissingen
Ships sailing from the North Sea via the Westerschelde to unload dry bulk goods at OVET's quay in Vlissingen can now enter with a draught of 16.80 metres. That is 10 cm more than was possible until now.
JuiSea Shipping launches liner service for orange juice from North Sea Port to United Kingdom
From now on, JuiSea Shipping will operate a regular shipping service from Ghent in North Sea Port for the export of orange juice to the United Kingdom. North Sea Port thus manages to strengthen its position as a foodport.

North Sea Port records decline in cargo throughput in first quarter of 2024
Seaborne cargo transhipment at North Sea Port fell by 3.2% in the first quarter of this year compared to the same period in 2023. The decrease was seen mainly in dry bulk throughput. Transhipment via inland waterways did experience growth.
