River Cruises

Within our port area, there are designated places for river cruise ships to berth in Terneuzen and Ghent. To berth here, ships are required to make a reservation in advance.

A berth is available in Terneuzen on the Beurtvaartkade. This berth is equipped with a shore power box and water tap.

In Ghent, a new jetty 85 metres long and 6 metres wide has been built, with space for four river cruises. Vessels can be secured to the mooring posts provided. Each berth is also equipped with a shore power box and a water tap.

Booking a berth

To berth at one of these moorings, cruise ships are required to make a reservation in advance. When booking, please mention:

  • The requested berth
  • Name of ship
  • Vessel dimensions (length, width and depth)
  • Name shipping company
  • Period of stay
  • Contact details

Shore power and drinking water

River Cruise Terminal Ghent

The jetty is equipped with four shore power boxes, with each box having connections of 63A, 125A and powerlock. According to Article 3.1.6 of the Port Police Regulation, the use of shore power is mandatory for inland vessels that have taken up a berth where shore power is available. The use of own power generators on board is no longer allowed.

A water tap with a DN50 is also available.

Beurtvaartkade Terneuzen

The quay in Terneuzen is equipped with three shore power cabinets, with a total of eight connections: 4x CEE 32A/400V, 2x CEE 63A/400V, 1x powerlock 400A, 1x CEE 125A. According to Article 4.5 of the Port Regulation North Sea Port Netherlands 2019, the use of shore power is mandatory for vessels that have taken up a berth where shore power is available. The use of own power generators on board is no longer allowed.

The water supply concerns a Storz 2’ coupling - NAA60.

Waste

River cruises are required to arrange their own waste containers through a private waste collection company and organise their own waste collection at both Terneuzen and Ghent locations.
