New rail link between Belgium and France: Lineas, DFDS and North Sea Port shift 8,000 containers and trailers from road to rail
The Belgian company Lineas and shipping and logistics firm DFDS are joining forces to transport containers and trailers from Ghent in North Sea Port by rail to Lyon – and vice versa. This will create an intermodal connection between Sweden, Belgium and France.
Swiss company Bertschi doubles size of multimodal terminal in North Sea Port and grows rail traffic
The Bertschi Group has virtually doubled the size of its terminal in Terneuzen. The expansion was needed to cope with increased demand for rail transport for chemical products to and from North Sea Port.

North Sea Port records decline in cargo throughput in first quarter of 2024
Seaborne cargo transhipment at North Sea Port fell by 3.2% in the first quarter of this year compared to the same period in 2023. The decrease was seen mainly in dry bulk throughput. Transhipment via inland waterways did experience growth.
