Together. Greener.

North Sea Port, the Dutch-Belgian port of Vlissingen, Terneuzen and Ghent, is Europe’s most versatile industrial and logistics hub. Together with our partners we continue to develop our port, where the economy, people’s well-being, and the environment go hand-in-hand.

Green smart port

With the ongoing support from our communities and stakeholders, we are transforming North Sea Port into a green smart port. Our logistics partners spare no effort to become climate neutral by 2050. On our part, we are heavily investing in our port infrastructure, digital services, energy and circular projects, and the roll-out of the largest hydrogen network in Western Europe.

First Green Corridor in Europe

The realisation of the first ever Green Corridor in Europe is a major stepping stone in making our port climate neutral. This green maritime corridor is made possible thanks to the close collaboration with our partners DFDS and Port of Gothenburg. Our goal is to significantly reduce climate footprint for goods shipped between Gothenburg, Sweden, and the Ghent area of North Sea Port.

Sustainable logistics value chain

For transport and logistics, our key priority is to reduce the number of trucks on the road and to make the value chain more sustainable. The next logical step will be the creation of Clean Energy Hubs, where logistics, business, and alternative energy sources and their storage are combined in multiple platforms.

Trade facilitation and the energy transition

As our customer, you can rely on our support in trade facilitation and the energy transition. We are hence developing an online portal based on best practices from other leading ports. This portal will be a valuable asset for streamlining your logistics processes, services, and information exchange.
