A unique site with a quay and direct access to the North Sea

For the development of our port and the realisation of our future vision, North Sea Port and the trustees of Bulk Terminal Zeeland BV are seeking one or more operators for a unique site with a quay located on San Marinoweg in Ritthem (Vlissingen). This seaport site includes land, infrastructure, and existing warehouses. It covers, among other things, the premises of the company Bulk Terminal Zeeland.

Details of the market consultation

The procedure consists of three phases: the application phase, the selection phase, and the contact phase. Official applications can be submitted from 17 March 2025, following the publication of the call for applications, and will be open until 6 April 2025.

The site on San Marinoweg in Ritthem has the following characteristics:

  • Direct access to the North Sea via the Western Scheldt
  • Located on the new Quarleskade with adjacent hinterland sites
  • Leasehold for the land and sale of the existing structures
  • Total area: 33.9 hectares (339,000 m²)
  • Two industrial halls/warehouses: 30,000 m² & 5,000 m²
  • Total quay length: 700 metres
  • Current maximum vessel draught: 12.5m LAT
  • 450m designed for a maximum draught of 14.5m LAT
  • 250m designed for a maximum draught of 12.5m LAT

Who are we looking for?

For the development of this port site, we are looking for companies that align perfectly with our vision and sustainability goals.

Applicants must have a clearly defined role in the energy and/or raw materials transition, be engaged in water-related activities, and make optimal use of the existing infrastructure and site. Additionally, they must operate within one of North Sea Port’s seven key sectors, as outlined in the strategic master plan Connect 2025
