Leader in the circular transition

At North Sea Port, we not only have excellent access to the raw materials of tomorrow, but also a diverse and ambitious industrial cluster. By developing and stimulating circular chains, and connecting and supporting stakeholders, we are working together to achieve our ambitious climate goals for a climate-neutral port.

North-C Circular

North Sea Port is working with ArcelorMittal and the Flemish government on the development of the business park 'North-C Circular' on the right bank of the Ghent-Terneuzen Canal in Ghent, where we are readying a 150-hectare site for construction with the necessary infrastructure and convenient access. Companies that focus on circular activities, mainly within the scrap and steel value chain, will soon be able to be located there. The focus will be on:

  • The circular economy
  • The reduction of CO2 emissions
  • The energy transition from fossil to renewable raw materials
  • The collaboration with companies in the area

Valuepark Terneuzen

The Valuepark Terneuzen is a joint venture between the port authority and Dow Benelux. The business park is located on the Western Scheldt and accessible via the Braakmanhaven, which means that it is not only equipped with deep-sea port facilities, but also connected to the hinterland via water, road, rail and pipelines.

Also present are large-scale industry, logistics service providers and green energy and utilities, ideal for chemical production and distribution within the plastics value chain. The focus is on the production of circular raw materials, based on advanced recycling and reuse of CO2.
