The port authority North Sea Port is the new Premium sponsor partner of the Eurovolley Women 23 championships. The North Sea Port name will appear on the jerseys of the Belgian team Yellow Tigers.

The European Women's Volleyball Championship will be held in Ghent and Brussels between 16 August and 3 September. The group stage will take place in Ghent, where the Belgian Yellow Tigers will take on Poland, Serbia, Ukraine and Slovenia.

As a Premium sponsor of the European Championships, North Sea Port will be sponsoring the shirts of the Belgian Yellow Tigers, along with the national lottery.

Cooperation in Europe

As a major European hub, North Sea Port attaches great value to cooperation in Europe. "After all, North Sea Port is a top European port and home to 550 top companies. So we didn't hesitate to get behind top teams for this European event. The city of Ghent as a stage for the ambitious and talented Belgian Yellow Tigers, but also as one of the central hubs of our Flemish-Dutch port that stretches from Vlissingen to Ghent – of course that makes it unique. Which is why we enthusiastically signed up as a sponsor and are supporting the European Championships to promote our shared values of equality, team spirit and inclusion. Because that's what we stand for: It is no coincidence that our slogan is 'Together, smarter'," says Daan, CEO of North Sea Port.

Geert de Dobbeleer, managing director of Topvolley Belgium and Volley Vlaanderen is also pleased with the partnership: "We are very pleased with the involvement of a world player like North Sea Port in this European Women's Championship. We share the same values: inclusion, team spirit, sustainability and fair play. Volleyball is the second most popular team sport in Flanders and third in Wallonia, and the involvement of North Sea Port offers added value to take the sport to the next level."
